What is a Virtual Assistant (VA)?

A Virtual Assistant, often abbreviated to VA, is a highly skilled, independent contractor who provides professional administrative, technical or creative support services to other businesses from a remote location (usually a home-based office).

People often perceive a VA as a Secretarial service, this is not so, VA’s are skilled administrative support consultants, that come from diverse business backgrounds, providing a wide range of services to meet their client’s specific needs.

Common modes of communication and data delivery include the Internet, online workspaces, email, and phone call conferences. There are a wide range of collaboration tools, from instant messaging to video conferencing, these allow the exchange of information between the VA and Client.

VA’s do not manage the client’s business, they offer support and advice, the client is responsible for the management, success or failure of their business.

Who would work with a Virtual Assistant?

From Individuals, Entrepreneurs, Small to medium businesses, to Non-Profit Organisations, essentially any business or person that requires assistance that can be accomplished virtually.

When would you need a Virtual Assistant?

When you no longer have time to manage your business effectively as you are preoccupied with the smaller tasks that need to be completed.

When  you are slowed down by many routine tasks that need to be completed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

When you no longer have a work-life balance, there are not enough hours in the day to complete everything thus having no time for anything else.

When you need help but hiring a new employee is not an option due to the costs, overheads and office space that is needed.




What if I don’t use my hours for the month?

Unfortunately, hours do not carry over to the following month as this can causes scheduling difficulties. We carefully tailor your package and with regular communication, this rarely occurs.

What if I need more than the agreed hours each month on an on-going basis?

If you need more hours that originally projected, we can negotiate upgrading your package. This will be dependent on several factors.

What if I need added hours in any particular month for a once off project or emergency work?

If you need added hours in any given month, we will try our best to accommodate you. This may however include the added cost of overtime. If sufficient notice is provided, we can schedule in the work and an hourly rate will be charged.

Can I contact you anytime to discuss work matters?

Yes, you may contact Di-Verse during working hours by your preferred method of communication. If an urgent matter arises, please call the number provided.

Please bear in mind that I am based in South Africa which is GMT+2. Our aim is to respond to emails or messages as soon as we can, usually within 24 hours.

What about Confidentiality?

Confidentiality is guaranteed. The work Di-Verse does for you and the knowledge we gain about your organisation stays with us. If you wish a confidentiality agreement will be signed.
